i tried to install win xp x64 pro but at the biginig i receve the error NO hard disk drive installed... i have maxtor 160gb sata hdd... maybe becouse the hdd is sata that is why it doesn`t work.. please Help..

I'm wondering if there's better way to enable/disable the Quick Launch bar and the Windows Explorer settings for the Default User than using fx. the Administrator account to set it all up and then copying the profile to Default User.

I am trying to install XP Pro using an updated bootable CD. I am using a version of source materila that has already got Service Pack 2 applied. I am using WINNT.SIF to automate as much of the installation as possible.

I'm trying to upgrade win98(1st edition) to windows xp home edition, everything is going well and it asks me to reboot. After that, it loads all the driver but then the CD spins down and the system locks up. Even pressing NUm Lock on the keyboard

I can start Windows XP but after entering a user session (I have 3 users defined) and after seeing some icons appear on the bottom right bar, the screen goes blank and the computer restarts; the problem is that I can't get to the "Start" button to look for the problem.

Before the installation of SP2 it was possible to NBTSTAT XP PCs and retrieve the logged on user id. After installing SP2 the logged on user id is no longer returned. This problem is sometimes resolved by setting up the "Messenger" service
