I have an intermittant error during boot up that appears to be a corrupt
boot record.
How can I replace just the boot record only?

I am am trying to install Windows XP onto a system with Win 98 using the
upgrade version of XP.
Halfway through i get an error "cannot find bootvid.dll" and eventually you

Now i cannot install any items from add/remove windows components
Setup of any item will progress to a point where the file needed cannot be
located... so i locate the file on the xp pro cd, whereupon the setup cannot

I have just built a computer using two S-ATA hard drives, and everything
works well except that the 'Safe to Remove Hardware' icon appears in the
system tray.

I've made 2 partitions, C and D, and I was planning to use the C-partition
onely for windows XP. But every time I install extra software the setup makes
by default installation-maps on the C-partition. How can I change this
settings???
