I HAVE TELCO ISSUES WHICH WOULD REQUIRE ME TO DISABLE XP (HOME) UPGRADING BY
DOWN LOADING FROM MICROSOFT; THE CONNECTION IS A 56K  DIAL-UP AND SERVICE
PACK HAS BEEN INSTALLED VIA THE MICROSOFT SERVICE PACK 2 CD.  THE DOWNLOAD
CONTINUES ONLY FOR A PERIOD OF 1 TO 2 MINUTES BEFORE ...

I have an intermittant error during boot up that appears to be a corrupt
boot record.
How can I replace just the boot record only?

I am am trying to install Windows XP onto a system with Win 98 using the
upgrade version of XP.
