Is it possible to apply updates centrally from the server for our PCs?  
Otherwise, because most are restricted as power users, is it really necessary
to log in to each PC as an administrator to apply updates?

Is there any documentation on the proper syntax for the Setup Manager command
line arguments (/m /b /a)?
I'm using setupmgr 5.2 from the server 2k3 disc and would like to find a way
to open an answer file in Setup Manager through the command line for

I did a clean install of Windows XP, following the instructions from
Michael Stevens. Very helpful. My hardrive is 80 GB, but since I only

I am installing Windows XP Pro and automating the setup, I have found most
things in the registry, but the settings for this next step are eluding me.
Via the keyboard and mouse and GUI, I can start the "services" snap-in for

Anybody knows how to do this?, I'm in the point where I can't continue my
reinstallation and at least will like to rollback to my system's previous

How do I change the Owner name for my computer?

We have 3 xp pro systems where the sp2 install fails no matter what we do.
We keep getting a very tiny error box with an oh-so-informative message that
says somthing like "Error - SP2 installation failed."
-Tried internet install, normal mode.

Hello, I'm using Volume media (SP2) and volume key.  First sysprep and
image works great, totally unattended and beautiful.  Now I want to
make a few changes to the build and sysprep again.  However, even with
the same [correct] sysprep.inf, it apparently can only be "resealed"

I am attempting a repair/reinstall due to virus problems, but can't find my
authentication code (I do have a genuine XP CD honest!). Is there any way of
retrieving it or getting a valid one?
(And how do you cancel out of the process if you don't have one?)

Hi i am ahving major problems with my computer i tried to upgrade windows to
