To make a long story short: got a virus, then tried to reinstall Win XP (with SP2) but haven't been able to. Now each time I turn on my PC, the Setup process resumes the installation automatically.

We have a mixed network (1 x WinXP, 1 x Win 2K, 5 x Win98) where all users connect to an Access 2000 database on one of the Win98 machines. Knowledge Base article 209137 states the importance of matched versions of Jet to avoid corruption (which we now have).

I recently purchased a HP zv6007us. It came loaded with XP Home SP2. I want XP Pro but only have a full and an upgrade disk with SP1, so had to boot from CD and do a clean install. Long story short I get through the "DOS" portion of setup just fine but at the "39 minutes left" ...

When I want to do Disk Cleanup, one of the things it calculates is how much would be saved by doing file compression. I never want the file compression done, but this calculation takes a lot of time. How can I tell it I do not want to hear about file compression?
