Upgrading from Win2000 Italian Version to XP Pro12 Jun 2005 00:38 GMT5
I was asked by a friend to upgrade a computer they received in Italy. It was
loaded with Win 2K Italian Version. I purchased an XP Pro upgrade package,
but after further review, I'm afraid this upgrade may not work. I don't want
to open the package and  be out the money I paid ...

In Network Connections, the LAN displays "connected", but when trying to get
internet access, it shows "page cannot be displayed". This notebook works
fine with a cable modem, but I can't get the 'DSL/ethernet connection to gain

I have tried installing xp pro and everything appears fine until it gets to
the screen "initialising drivers" 35 minutes remaining.  The green box stops
moving and everything appears to jam.

My comp crashed yesterday, so I reinstalled windows xp. When it was finished,
I logged on and the display was 640*420 with only 4 colors... I tried to fix
it, but neither will go up. I ran windows updates and tried the trouble

I had Adobe Acrobat running under XP SP1 and then went to SP2 and am
now unable to create a PDF.  I was getting a memory error 0x0045c9e5,
but now it just hangs.    I have done everything that Adobe suggested,
except an OS reinstall.

I created an unattended.txt file using the deployment wizard for Windows XP.  
I then renamed the file to winnt.sif and put it in the \i386 folder on a CD I
burned.  
In the file I have the lines:
