I am receiving this error message when trying to install windows XP Home
edition on a Compaq Presairo 7470 and cannot figure out what is causeing the
problem. Can anyone help.

I did a clean install of XP Home SP1 from the system disc supplied with the
Dell computer. I've done many of these before without any issues, but not on
this particular computer.
When completed, I couldn't adjust the monitor settings, and the monitor

Ina  NT4 & AD domain, is there any script to rename a PC?  We have to
touch over 500 PC's and if we can script it, then we would like to do
that instead...

I am about to deploy SP2 in a very sensitive software development area
on production workstations.
Any comments, suggestions, things to watch out for? Can I trust
restore points? etc etc.

We are having a problem where when a computer is syspreped the machines may
or may not get an "Advanced INF Install" message where the option is to
restart or not.  Does anyone know where this message may be coming from?  We
need to prevent this from occuring if at all possible.  ...

I have set USMT up, so it exactly fits our needs. It works perfectly - or so
I thought.
I have just released that the restore process takes exactly twice the amount
of time as the backup process did.

When trying to install SP2 I get the error 'Update.inf file is corrupt make
sure the Cryptographic service inurning on this machine,'
The service is running fine I restarted it to be sure.   What else can I
check?

seemed to go very well but when I attempt a restart (without the XP
installation disk loaded) I receive a message "Non-System disk or disk error.

I configure a sauce PC (Win XP SP2) and sysprep it.  All works fine when I
deploy the syspreped OS but when the user logs in (any user), it creates a

Following a format and re-installation of our secretaries computer, at the
log-in screen, the login name default is always Owner.  Using REGEDIT, I
verified that the Owner name should be "Terri", any ideas on how to fix the
problem?

somewhere. Dont care where as long as its accesable by my techs.
Were always doing updates to our image and need the rev # that the machine
has on its so we can trouble shoot what the difference is between ...
