I am trying to upgrade from Me to XP home and I could not finish the install
because of the following: C:\$WIN_NT$~LS\i386\asms.
Error Message: A component's file does not match the verification
information present in the component manifest.

I have a generic Pentium II, which was running fine on Win 98.  I installed
Win XP Home Edition and now get the following error:
  ASUS P2B ACPI BIOS Revison 1006
  Pentium II ECC 400 Mhz

My motherboard and cpu burnt out in my computer so I have to replace them
with a different board and cpu. I still have the original hard drive that has
XP loaded and has been activated for almost a year.
My Question is will I have to re-activate XP once I load up?  If so will I

can not edit the permissions on 2 of the Registry keys;
