I recently reinstalled WinXP Home SP1 from the original CD. Everything works perfectly except I am running SP1. Today, I tried to use the Windows Update feature of WinXP and it doesn't work. Internet Explorer starts and freezes. So, I tried to do an update using Firefox. MS

Why would the "New Partition" option be gray/unavailable when I try to partition a new, secondary hard drive in a computer? I can see the new unpartitioned space under "Disk Management" under "Computer Management" in the administrator tools.

The windows xp professional EULA has a statement in it that says you can move the software internally from one workstation to another, provided you completely delete XP Pro from the first. However, the activation description I read would make you belive that you can't delete it ...

I've put a new hard drive into an Acer machine. When I run the setup for Windows XP Home off the cd, the installation says it "setup can't access his disk". When i press a key I then get a blue screen saying "STOP 0x0000008E" and "SETUPDD.SYS".
