my computer keeps displaying a pop up whenever i dont use it for 3 minuets or
more, saying there's an error and i must save all my work and it wil lshut
down in 60 seconds. I recently re-installed WinME, and upgraded to XPpro and

I recently reinstalled WinXP Home SP1 from the original CD. Everything
works perfectly except I am running SP1. Today, I tried to use the
Windows Update feature of WinXP and it doesn't work. Internet Explorer

When I double click a downloaded .msi file I get a message that says "an
argument is different  -  OK" and the file will not install.  I am runing win

I installed XP Pro over Windows 98 without any problems.  Then, on starting
up the machine, my monitor doesn't work.  The power is on and, when i unplug
the signal lead from the back of my pc, the monitor comes up with 'no signal'

I've reviewed all the references I can find to free space problems and can't
quite get mine figured out.  On a, supposedly, 40 gig drive partitioned, c: 4
gig, e: 15, f: 15, with FAT 32, the C: drive show up as 3.7 gig.  My Windows
directory shows 1.8 gig, Program Files shows 300 ...

Why would the "New Partition" option be gray/unavailable when I try to
partition a new, secondary hard drive in a computer? I can see the new
unpartitioned space under "Disk Management" under "Computer Management" in
the administrator tools.

The windows xp professional EULA has a statement in it that says you can
move the software internally from one workstation to another, provided
you completely delete XP Pro from the first. However, the activation
description I read would make you belive that you can't delete it ...

I've put a new hard drive into an Acer machine.  When I run the setup for
Windows XP Home off the cd, the installation says it "setup can't access his
disk".  When i press a key I then get a blue screen saying "STOP 0x0000008E"
and "SETUPDD.SYS".

I have a Windows XP Sysprep image we use for corporate deployment here.
A new workstation just came in with the LSI Logic Ultra 320 SCSI card -
and I can't seem to get it to work, I get the STOP 7B error straight
after booting. I've taken the driver files, textsetup.oem files etc ...

OS upgrade went OK (with minor hassles) but all the Office 2000 Small
Business applications (pre-installed by Dell originally) are not shown as
installed any more. All the executables are still there but they won't
execute, aren't listed under Add/Remove Programs, etc.. At first, ...
