Could someone please tell me how to restore my pc without losing all my
information.  Is there a way to restore all the settings in the mmc, wmi, w32
files without totally reinstalling windows?  I have XP Home, but have office
10 on here as well.  Somehow the accessibility options ...

I keep getting popups that say 'updates are ready your computer, click here
to install'  I had a schoolmate build the computer & am no longer in touch
with him.  I am unsure about the XP license.
How do I either get these updates or stop the popup reminder from coming up?

We have an XP image that was created on a uniprocessor system. When this
image is restored on a dual processor system, the OS does not see the 2nd

Hi, my girlfriend reformat her hard drive with windows xp home and now when
she boots up, her monitor has dots like its in safe mode. Is there a setting
in BIOS that needs to be set ? Any help is appreciated.

I've tried installing service pack 2 on my machine both from the internet and
by CD from Microsoft. In both instances it acts like it "freezes up" when it

Has anyone managed to successfully build an x64 workstation from a RIS image
on a Win2003 SP1 server? I've been experimenting with the x64 WinXP CD, a
RIS server running Win2003 SP1, and a Dell GX620 workstation, which has a P4
processor with the e64mt extensions.

I just inherited some computer parts, among them is a Supermicro P6DBE with
two PIII-450 processors and 4x128mb (512mb) PC100.
