I insert the CD and nothing happens (besides a little noise)

I found out that the copy of windows xp on the used machine I bought for my
daughter is not legal so I bought retail full copy of a "Dell" windows xp
pro.

I normally use a DSL connection, but when away from home base, I ocassionally
need to use dial up.  when First I attempted this, the wizard will not allow
