I have windows 98. I bought and installed xp for students and teachers. I thought this would make my os xp but it still runs in 98. How do I upgrade to xp or should I just be happy I can use the xp office programs?

I recently installed a new MB and an additional HD for a RAID O. WinXP Pro Setup gave an error message that said it could not find a hard drive installed. "check connection..etc". The system shows the SATA Raid O installed. Any suggestions as to what is happening?

From what I understand of the other posts in this group, if I get a retail version of XP Pro, I can choose to do a clean install OR an upgrade. If I get an OEM version of XP Pro, I can only do either a clean install or an upgrade (depending on the OEM version that I buy)
