I have a brand new Dell 9100 w/ XP Home that I want to wipe. It works fine. When trying to install XP Pro SP1a, it fails with "Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your computer". I have a 160 gig SATA drive. Shouldn't it automatically discover it?

I have a laptop that originaly ran on Win 98. I upgraded to XP Pro, with upgrade cd. I would like to replace the original 12Gb drive with a 40Gb drive, but the upgrade CD won't install XP unless there is a previous operating system on the drive.

I set up a few xp sp2 workstations with a local admin account. I can enable/disable the firewall as much as I wish. Once I add the machine to a domain - even if I log in again locally - I cannot change settings on firewall. All settings are grayed out - can you help?
