I would like to buy an laptop with a Windows XP.  the set-up language in

I'm assembling a new machine and am having trouble getting Windows XP Pro to
install. Here's what happens:
   * I've set the boot sequence to CDROM - HDD - FLOPPY
   * I insert the XP CD and reboot

I have tried repeately without success to upgrade Windows ME to XP (Service
Pack 2).  
When I use the option of downloading the new setup files, the installation
stops at the first stage ("Collecting Information") and will not proceed.

Do any guys know which is usb1 and usb2 on any computers? and how do i find
which one is which?

I install the CD, reboot, and when it goes through the setup it says it can't
find the hard drive.  I simply rebooted, and I can get back to internet
(here).  I do have a hardware raid, raid 1, simple mirror in place.  Windows
