I just bought a new PC with a MSI PM8M2-V Motherboard and a 80Gb Hitachi SATA HD (only one). I need to install Windows XP SP2. Will booting from the XP Sp2 CD just do it? I have no floppy drive, so in case I need to install the SATA drivers, how do I do it? Thanks

I'm reconfiguring a pc for dual boot for a classroom. It originally came with xp pro only, but the new setup is win98 on C and winxp on D. When installing XP after 98, the installation fails because the key I enter from the product sticker on the back of the PC is not accepted.

a while back microsoft used to have an XP SP2 download for LAN's, it was a single executable file you can download and update your computers with offline. The problem is I can't find this anymore. I can only find how to order the CD or download updates through Windows update.

Is there a way to make a complete disk image of an xp-system on an external USB-disk drive, which can be restored on another xp-computer? This is meant to serve as an ultimate safety precaution which works still in case of complete loss of the primary computer

I'm trying to re-load winxp because of old anti-virus and when i put the disket I enter the pin # for the win.xp and then its starts to backing files till at the end it says (invalid c:\BOOT.INI) so I can't go on can anybody help me?

I've just installed windows XP on my computer, and starting it for the first time. The only logon option is administrator, and it is asking for a password. I do not have a password, and everything I try results in the same error msg.

I'I'd like to reinstall windows, but I don't want to ahve to reinstall all of my applications. I have enough information and applications installed to make a normal reformat a HUGE headache. Is there anyway to do this while not having to reinstall everything? Thanks
