Iv been trying to upgrade to XP Professional and during the installation the
set up asks for a file "viaide.sys" what is this file and whats it suppost to
do .......and what im i suppost to do from here on ?

I have a network composed of two XP Homes in a peer to peer setup. I want to share the root of C: on both machines so they are visible to the other. From attempts to date this does not seem possible.
Is this inhibited in the Home version?

I ran into an issue installing our
sysprep-with-mini-setup-made-on-an-Intel-box load set on an AMD box.
The solution was to change a reg key value.  Which worked.  
So did just deleting the reg key value -- which is what we had to do

Doing an install for a site that's a bit bigger than the ones I normally
tackle, and decided that a corporate (Open) licence would be the sensible way
to go. At the moment the only licensing requirement is XP Pro, as they're
retaining the the rest of their infrastructure.

Ever since I completed some microsoft upgrades last weekend my machine locks

re-install.  Says it is installed - although I can see  applications I cannot
start them.   What have I forgotten ?  How do I kick start these programmes ?
