About 12 months ago I upgraded the OS on an IBM Thinkpad T22. I upgraded from Windows 98 SE to XP Home Edition (SP2). This was an upgrade version. Somehow 3 young nephews & nieces (to whom I gave the Thinkpad to) have contrived to corrupt XP.

I activated then de-activated the guest account on XP Home. Now that it is de-activated, I cant access the shared folders via a home network. I get a Win Login pop-up asking for the guest account password. How do I fix this???

I have tried seveal times to downlaod and install Windows XP SP 2 and on every occassion it halts because it cannot find find file xmlp_.xdr. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I have had to do an new reinstall on my machine and have had SP 2 on before. Thank you!!
