Ok, I've had Windows XP (home ed.) for a while now, and I know you are supposed to reformatt hard-drive once in a while... well I go to restart computer with XP disc in drive, but it still goes to my logg on screen with no promt asking me to install XP.

there is command %systemdrive%\hotfixes.cmd in [GuiRunOnce] in WINNT.SIF. There is hotfixes.cmd under $OEM$\$1. It says At the installation c:\hotfixes could not find Thanks in advance.

I have some Dell desktops with a COA on them. And I can't find the original reinstall CDs but when I use ones from my other dells it doesn't ask for a Product ID. How can I change it to match the product ID that is on the COA. And does it matter what version of XP I put on it. I ...

I work in a small office environment and have just come to need to reinstall windows xp. I know the pc was running Windows XP pro and was purchased from dell. I dont have the old cd (pre sp1) but i do have a new dell cd (Sp2). Will the product key work since they are both (OEM?) ...

My system boots up using the C drive. I would prefer it boot up using the F drive, whic his an older hard drive that I installed after buying the computer. (I have both hard drives) How can I make this change? Thank you!

Is there anyway to stop Windows from nagging me. I have a 3rd party firewall but Windows keeps nagging me that I don't have a firewall. Windows also keeps tellin me I have unused or seldom used icons on my desktop. How can I tell Windows to leave me alone???

can i possibly tansfer the O/S installed in my pc from drive h: to drive c: I don't know why my O/S went into drvie h: I used a window xp pro with a two hard-drive disk.

I have windows xp pro with service pack 2. I have 2 hard drives, one is a 250 gb max and the other is a 160 gb max. My motherboard BIOS recognizes both as 250 and 160. Windows recognizes both as 127 gb. What do I need to do so that windows recognizes both as their true values?
