Is it safe to move i386 to another disk? If it must be placed under the system32 folder is it possible to move it to D:, for example, then mount it in system32? What about ServicePackFiles?

I re-formated and installed win xp prof. THEN I installed SP1 Update with NO problem. After restarting and defraging, I tried to install SP2 from Microsoft CD and get SETUP ERROR C:\windows|$NtServicePackUninstall$\ not enough storage for backup.

I'm trying to install FTP services on a XP Pro system. Everything works OK as long as the firewall on the server is disabled. If the firewall is enabled, then the client will either time-out a request, or respond with an insufficient rights message.
