I'm currently running XP Pro and XP Home on the same computer but on 2 physical disks and using the BIOS to select which disk to boot from when I need to change. Although this works, I'd rather have a boot menu. Are there options for boot.ini to accomodate for multiple disks ...

Using XP-Home version. I re-set the BIOS boot sequence to be CDROM,A,C and also tried F,A,C (the ROM drive is device F) and it still boots from the C drive. Now my CDROM is an external drive. Might that be the problem?

I am attempting to upgrade from Windows Me on my older HP computer. Part of the way through the process, setup alerts me that it can't find a previous version of Windows (even though a legitimate Me is still there,) and that it needs a Windows cd.

I have recently bought a pc with xp pro which turned out as not genuine. I have an genuine xp home disk which I used to clean install the os. I chose to delete the original partition which held the xp pro and then install xp home (or so I thought!) .
