Hey all. I have a very nive WinPE utility I use to lay down an image. I am trying to snap in an HTA that prompts a tech for some specifics after the image gets laid down and before the first reboot into the image (to minisetup etc).

When I boot my laptop with XP Pro on the network, I have connectivity with all the network drives. But when I restoring the system from hibernation, I dont have the connectivity to the network drives. I can access the network drives only if I restart the system.

Further to previous posting: I cannot find a reference to IE7 in the registry - yet when I try to install IE7 I get a message that it is already installed and must be removed. Updates: KB912812 will not install.

45 minutes into an XP Pro upgrade from Win2K Pro I got a prompt asking for the distribution CD for Office 2K Pro. I cancelled out of it because I don't know where I put the Office 2K CD's and just wanted to get the upgrade done and it seemed like it went on OK.

I am replacing a faulty HD and I was thinking of doing it myself. What I heard is that the Windows XP installation bootable CD will detect an unpartitioned, unformatted HD and take care of things automatically. I don't need special software. Is that correct?

I just bought xp upgrade for my HP computer that runs on windows 2000. when I put the disc in and click install upgrade, it came back telling that I cannot do it, because I don't have the right path for an upgrade. ? what does that mean? and do I just need to buy a new computer?
