I had purchased a retail (academic) package of Windows XP Pro in the past and
now plan to purchase a new CPU.  Can I install the current XP package on the
new CPU?  If so, what is involved in?

I am just curious, and maybe I am an idiot but I have not really been able to
find clear consice documentation on this.
I just want to know, for a mass deployment image using a volume license.  
If I can get a general step by step with regards to when to reseal?

How can I upgrade from XP Home Edition to Professional Edition without
loosing user accounts, data or having to re-install applicatiions.
