I need to re-install Windows XP. In Windows, I can read the CD, but when I re-boot and I press a key to use the Windows XP Professional CD, I get the message that it is inspecting hardware, and then blank... No blue screen etc!

My WinXP was behaving strange so I decides to do a repair install. It used to work most of the times, but now the installer stops at ETA 34 minutes. It does not freeze, bt stops doing anything. Logs contain rather meaningless information:

I was installing windows xp ona new machine and I accidently hit escape instead of F8 on the agreement of the EULA and now I am not able to start windows loading again. I have no idea how to install now, nothing I do will bring the startup back. Help anyone?

I have just start a contract work in NT4 Domain, working on software deployment. I have no problems with 2K and XP SP1. Just wanted to know if you can disable the XP2 firewall. I know i can do it with the logon script using the SC or NET commands.
