after reboot, goes through collecting information, dynamic update,
preparing installation, and stalls on installing windows; hot rebooted

My friend wiped my HD clean and re-installed Windows XP Prof.  I don't think
he activated or registered the product.  I know I did not.  I can not get
into my system.  The windows XP boot screen comes up and then it shuts down

OK, I have just set up two machines, one XP Pro (retail), one XP Home
(retail).  The slight problem being that the one I set up for Home
should have been Pro and vice versa. Both are fully installed, including

Am getting ready to do a clean reinstall of XP Home SP2, hopefully on a

I have a system that has XP Home installed.  When I turned the computer on it
just shows a black blank screen.  And just locks up.  After I restarted the
computer after it locked up it asked me if I wanted to go to Safe Mode, Last
