Keyboard characters display é in    stead of Apostrophe (')31 Mar 2007 19:06 GMT1
I am using Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition.
My keyboard is displaying an é instead of an apostrophe(') and an É instead
of a double quote (").  I checked the Regional Language and it is correct
(English-Canada).

I have a problem with two new 64 bit Dell workstations received with Windows
XP already installed.  I've patched them from internal WSUS servers, and all

I have some Windows XP laptops in my AD domain.
If they are in my network or with no network at all, everything works fine.

I have just built an image to install XPSP2 on Dell Optiplexes 745,
620, 280, 270, 260, 240 that is pre-populated with drivers
The 745, and 270's are working fine.
The 280 keeps detecting new hardware and wants to reboot.

I want to remove my XP Pro completely and start afresh with Vista.
Where do I begin? I know Vista may remove my old version (SP), but I'd like
it from scratch.

I have previously, successfully installed xp 64 on an amd64 machine.
Now, I am attempting to install it on intel core 2.  At the beginning of the
install, I get a message stating setupreg.hiv couldn't be loaded.  I am not
sure if the installation disk is shut or there is an issue ...

abc.machinename folder for user abc and not just use the abc folder in

I have a compaq presario 6000 from 2002. I tried to update XP w/ SP2  but it
errored out. I restarted the computer. Now it just goes from the COMPAQ
screen to WINDOWS XP screen over and over again. It won't even go into SAFE

have two drives, one for data and one for windows. I had installed vista on
C: but after it not liking my programs ive reinstalled XP on what was the C:
drive. Its reinstalled fine but now the C: drive is D:!!
Is there an easy way to rename the drive? (without reformating?)

My pc showed the BSOD.. when it boots up, @ time when the login screen is to
come up next.
This has been a intermittently-recurring problem lately.
I tried logging into the recovery console - it does not accept my

i built a new machine and installed my old HDD into it and proptly it
wouldn't boot and, after a few attempts, it trashed the FAT and the machine
wouldn't even see the drive after POST.  it whiped out al traces of an OS
ever being on there and jumbled my data something fierce. so ...

I received the following error message after I upgraded to Spyware Doctor 5.0:
"STOP: C0000135 Unable to locate component This application has failed to
start becasue msvcrt.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix
this problem"
