My board got damaged. It is a permanent damage.
My goal is to move this windows installation to new board
without having to reinstall it.
Warranty is over.

dual boot system with windows xp media edition and vista
system was partitioned with partition magic 8 prior to vista install
I download sound drivers which crashed vista and only had xp working
I managed to crash the xp side,,,sigh

Is it necessary to select any additional files, folders, etc. to insure all
my Outlook settings and messages get transferred?  All settings and emails
are stored locally, not on the server.  Thanks

My XP-Pro SP2 PC was upgraded to SP3 2 days ago. The PC is attached to
a domain that is not local (it is accessed now and then via VPN
tunneling).
After the upgrade to SP3 my wife's XP-Home SP1 PC can no longer use

I am able to get sound just fine when playing itunes on my machine, but when
I connect to the internet and play videos I get no sound.  What should I be
looking at to resolve this issue?

I have a laptop computer with only one internal drive bay, with XPhome-sp3.
The disk is full and I need to move to a new disk. I do not have access to
other computers, but I do have an external USB drive. I also have a BartPE

How would I go about configuring WinPE 2.x to recognise devices on the
HDAUDIO\ bus? At the moment I've scripted a batch with a WMI query
which converts the SUBSYS substring in the PCI\* deviceID and then
searches for that string in a list of driver .INF files - which works

I had installed windows XP without removing the earlier installed. When I
start the PC, there is an option to choose which operating system.
I would like know how to remove the earlier installed windows XP.

i have windows xp home service pack 3. my doughter was on it she came
out told me something was wrong. i have no operating sys so i used my
disc i copied when i first bought my pc. on the black screen i have.
press r for standard recovery. press f all will be lost. if i press f

since 2 weeks the autologon doesn't work.
The logon screen waits for STRG+ALT+DEL.
If I press STRG+ALT+DEL the login resumed
(without enter the password).

I worked for a SME with 80-100 xp machine, just wondering what is the most
efficient way to deploy XP hotfix, we are not using SMS now, it is painful to
install manually.

I installed xp on a vista machine, what happened on install was Partition "I"
(a Boot partition of 524 GB) was created.
XP was installed on "I".
Left over was "C" a FAT system partition of 63 MB.

I need to use diskpart to partition & format unallocated areas on new disks.
The only diskpart operations I can find for unallocated space applies to
expanding existing partitions.  Diskpart is supposed to be a superset of the
