I have new hard drive, I use diskmgmt to to an "Initialize" and then I do a partition to use the drive. I now have to do this a lot and want to script it to do this. I am using diskpart to do what diskmgmt GUI does but they don't map well.

I'm trying to restore an old Tiny PC to factory condition. Tiny is long defunct, so I can't get technical support. The PC has a valid XP Home license, but no media or apparent recovery partition. I have other OEM copies of XP Home.

I'm using sysprep -reseal -mini in XP SP3 to prepare a master PC image. When I reboot after running sysprep, some of my settings have been changed. For example: after sysprep, there is a Windows Media Player icon on the local admin desktop.

I've got acer 4630 laptop and I was trying to install win xp on that. but when I entered the product key it says "the product key is not valid". but everyn's fine. i hv open licence of win xp I installed that same in to acer 5220. it worked. Does anyone no the reason? pls

I dual-booted my Gateway laptop successfully, loading XP on one partition and Vista on the other. When I bought the laptop it came with XP and a mail in coupon for Vista - so both operating systems are specifically made for this machine.
