I'm trying to copy files from a DVD +R to my hard disk and a few files cause a cannot copy error which shows cyclic redundancy check as the cause. Is there any way round this?

Do I need to be concerned about so-called web bugs on otherwise legitimate web pages? I like to think I'm smart about security and privacy on the web. From what I've been reading, there's nothing sinister about web bugs in legitimate web pages, but I'd like to be sure about this.

Since someone messed around with some settings on my PC I find that now whenever you need to eg download Flash or something like that, rather than the Internet Explorer Information bar appearing, it no longer does so and it is not possible to download plugins etc and even view ...

I have recently done a clean install of windows xp. I have not yet installed service pack 2. The only programs I have installed are MS office 2000. I have installed my wireless lan card with the latest drivers.
