I reinstalled Win XP because of some c oruption issues that I could not fix.  
The new problem is that anytime I change settings on a program or windows
itself , the changes do not stay when I restart the computer.  Any
suggestions?

I've been trying to get updates for XP home edition, but eveytime I use the
website update all I get is a message saying I need to install an ActiveX
control, but no info bar shows up so I can install it.  I can't install the
updates nor the ActiveX controll.

I run XP on a Maxtor 250g HD, with Roadrunner as my IP.  
I keep Norton's SystemWorks updated, as well as Ad-Aware.
My son states this is a problem with a dll, but it may be a
combination of software and IP.

How can I turn a dual boot into a single boot, without data loss. I
don't mind the loss of that small section that can't be used. Someone
said there is a file that can be edited to make the dual boot screen go
