ok, so I tried to do it and wasnt succesful. Each time my computer would
freeze and my action didnt really solve the problem.
I gave up for a little while and after starting up I would just cancel the
pop up window. But now 7 times out of 10 my computer would freeze after

I have installed the upgrade on a second computer, but when I start up it
will not go past 'sign on', when I click 'sign on' it says I can't accesss
until I have registered, so when I click register now, it goes to my desk top
and then 'sign on' again. and just keeps going back ...

every page i am on only stays active for seconds, then times out (don't know
if i'm describing this properly).
ex. if i am typing an email, after a few seconds, the page times out and i
have to reclick the cursor in order to keep typing.

On 3/24 I asked how to rename my F Drive after inadvertently giving it a

When I go to Start-->Help and Support nothing shows up. I don't see any hard
drive activity. Also, nothing happens when I attempt to start up Remote

I am trying to repair a friend's laptop that seems to have a lot of the
basic xp files/drivers missing.
I put the CD in and boot from it, then choose R for repair and then 1<Enter>
to select the only operating system on it and log-on as administrator. All
