I keep getting various different messages saying error....... do you wish to

This is a desktop computer running xp pro. I have power options set to shut
down drives and monitor after a set period and this works fine. However if I
go to start/turn off computer/standby it leaves me a desktop background

On a brandnew computer I have (by a mistake) disabled the only user.
Now I can't start up, because af this disabling. How do I solve this problem??

My wife's computer is very slow.
Window's Defender will not start
Norton anti virus will not start
Shell Hardware Detection Service causes the system to go extremely slow.

We have received this error about every three weeks.
