Why Doc "should be opened as read-only unless changes to it need to be saved" ?13 Mar 2007 16:13 GMT1
When I open occasionally Word docs with Word 2003 then a popup appears informing me:
"D:\...\myLetter.doc should be opened as read-only unless changes to it need to be saved. Open as read-only ?"
Why does Word 2003 detect changes? I have just opened the doc without applying any ...

Can anyone tell my how to adjust the size of my attachments. The attachments
used to open in a smaller square configuration and now they open in a
verticle rectangle. I can maximize or drag the box to change the size. I
shouldn't have to every time one opens. It never used to ...

Start Windows Normally
Run last know good configuration
Safe Mode

I receive a message, in various forms, "Bad CRC" when I try to download
updates from reputabale sites (Corel, Logitech, etc.)  Dome recent actions
that may havae caused this:  restored a backup using Acronis; tried a deep
defrag using System Mechanic (which seemed to hang up.)

I am having a problem with a something called  Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
When I try to pull up some installed programs and some files  in windows
itself,( Help and Support etc. )  i get the following message:

On my XP pro machine I cannot create new files or folders. Every time
i right click and try to go to New, or from windows explorer File -
New. My system appears to hang, npthing responds from the start menu
or task bar. The the only way to get my machine working again is go

When scrolling down a page, the whole screen flickers & moves down the

I just reinstalled Office Prof 2003 on a new computer and i have
re-registered the Office 2003 product and it accepted.  But, when i start
Outlook the End User Agreement ALWAYS appears and makes me select "accept".  
In each of the other office products i've had to do that ...

Since formatting I now get a small 2 x 4" MS WXP box advising Windows is
Shutting Down and on Boot up I get a 4x4" MS WXP box contaning  my name and I
have to click OK to get into Windows.  Both boxes appear on a black screen.

to find IEXPLORE.exe.I have iexplore.exe in program files internet explrer
application version 6.0.2900 2180 91 bytes and an other entry in program
files internet explorer mui version7.0.5730.11  560 kb ...

system process is running at 99% after fresh install.
process explorer shows no attatched services / processes using cpu running
under system.
already searched other forums for help, but there is no nortons / pc cillin
