Recently, whenever I click on these desktop icons it just takes me to
a blank blue page.  It also happened when I went via the start menu.
I decided to repair my XP version, and because my disk was SP1 it took
me back in time.  It did however fix the problem.  However I have

When I click on a profile, my computer says "Loading your personal
settings..." then immediately restarts itself.  This happens even when I try
to go in through safe mode.  I don't get any blue screen or STOP error.  The
computer just restarts and goes back to the same screen ...

I have an XP Home SP2 computer here that was recently repaired from a
serious virus & spyware infestation. Somewhere in the course of repair I
lost access to the DVDRW and CDROM drives. Device Manager shows Error Code
39 on both of them. I have tried the following fixes:

Against my better judgement I recently installed the SP2. My system completly
locked up and after powering down I have been upable to access my hard drive.
If I let it boot normally, my system gets to the XP "load" screen and then
auto reboots. I can not acces safe mode to run ...

I'm trying to fix a friends computer.  When it boots many of the key services
like DHCP Client dont start.  Even Event Log, a service that cannot be
stopped, is stopped!
They are all set to automatic startup type, I've searched all over and can't

When my windows xp media computer comes out of hibernation, I lose my usb
ports and must reboot to get them back.  Any fixes out there?

hi, my usb isn't working properly. each time i try to delete or save a
dociment on it it says:
cannot copy effective communication: the disk is write-protected.
          remove the write protection or use another disk.

Prior to our time change recently, I started up my home computer to make sure
all the XP updates were installed (I don't very often turn it on, so I knew I
would have some updates).
Not very far into the download, I got a blue screen with this error message:

I installed XP Home and downloaded XP SP 2 but when the update was loading
the new files I got error messages, "can't copy tsoc.dll", then "filename,
directory name or volume label syntax is incorrect", and then "sp2 setup

My Norton Anti-virus has quarantined this program as being infected with the Download.Trojan virus.
Is this program vital? Can I delete it without probably encountering any problems? If not, do you know where I could download a clean replacement?

I TURN ON MY COMPUTER THE WINDOWS LOADS BUT THEN IT DOESNT GET TO THE LOG ON
PART I INSTEAD I GET THIS BLUE SCREEN THAT THE SAYS MICROSOFT LOG ON HAS BEEN
TERMINATED AND THEN SAYS SOMETHING ABOUT SHUTTING DOWN HOW CAN I FIX THIS SO

While trying to install business contact manager, with offic professional 2003
I am getting "setup failed to configure server.  Refer to the server error
logs and setup erros logs for more info.
