I have a PC about 6yrs old running Windows XP Home which is up to date. Although the USB ports are 2.0, I have thought they were not up to scratch, so I purchased and installed a new PCB with 4 new ports. I am happy with these.

During startup, I do not have the option to select logging on in Safe Mode by hitting F5 or F8. The only options are F1 for Setup, and ESC for boot center, which only lists the devices to boot the OS from (but does not allow me to select the mode).
