Hi folks --
I'm having trouble with an odd crash that seems to start when svchost.exe
jumps  from 25Mb to 80 or 100Mb in memory usage.  
Process Explorer tells me which dll's are operating through svchost.exe, but

the problem:
windows won't complete startup... this happened after attempting to install
new antivirus... i think i need to uninstall antivirus, but i can't due to
the fact that windows start page begins to reload then computer shuts down

I have upgraded to IE7 and now all i get when i try to browse the net is a
page cannot be displayed. Windows messenger still works and i can ping
anything i want. I have uninstalled ie7 back to ie6 and everything works
again, but put ie7 back on and it cant find any pages.....any ...

I have two computers hardwired through  a router but not networked.  One has
XP Pro/SP2 and the other has XP Home SP2 and both are fully updated except
both still have IE6.  The patch for DST was  applied before the time change
and all seemed to be working fine.

I have an Icon with no file extenion on it.  Properties List it as file
unknown on how to open.  It has 0 bytes for size.  When i right click and
pick delete it say cannot delete, cannot read from the source file or disk.

Hi y'all,
I recovered from a complete and utter crash of my hard drive. It's a
getting old HP Pavilion, so I don't have the XP CD, just a partition
on the C drive from which you can recover the OS, losing everything
