After running into some problem, I tried uninstalling window XP from my
computer to get to the root of my problem but was unsuccesful. Why am I
having hard time doing this. How do I uninstall Window XP?.

I am trying to convert my external HD into ntfs as advised, by running cmd
then the command "convert F:/fs:ntfs" but it then asks me to "enter current
volume label for this drive" which I am unable to supply. Where will I find
this please?

How do I change the modified date of a file's attribute?

Every once in a while, my system will go into a sudden lag; my cursor
movement is choppy, music playback is choppy, and the whole system just seems
to hiccup as it works. Everything moves slow and "unsmooth" as if I'm running
a large program or opening a large file, but I'm not. ...

My speakers arent working and ive checked that they are turned on and they
are plugged into the correct jack (i think) and the sound volume is also on.

CD/DVD-ROM is not working properly. It is not appearing as a driver in the My

I have WinXP Pro SP2 on a Dell 8300 Dimension.  It has been running great

all...I have checked via IE / Tools / Options / Content / Auto Complete
that I have ticks in the Web Address / Forms / Username & Password boxes
plus the Prompt to Save Password box but I get no prompt request nor

How do I get a shortcut open the folders tree with "folders" activiated,
i.e. open with a frame ... tree on left, folders on right?

I have recently re instaled XP, including service pack 2, on my pc,
having brought a new hard drive.  My hardware is all working properly,
and acording to AVG I am virus free.

I've had xp media center for 2 years now with no problems.  I had a crash and
when starting my computer it told me files were missing and it would not boot
into windows.  I tried to fix this with windows repair (oem install discs).  
even doing this it told me it could not load ...

I click the magnifier.exe and nothing happens?  how to make it work?
I read questions on this boards but see no way to determined what the
answers are or where they appear and by what method  Help

I just had to replace my power source.  After doing this, everytime I try to
log into Windows, it goes to my desk top for a brief second, then logs me off
right away.  I tried safe mode, etc.  Any suggestions!?!?
