Hi! I really need some help from someone... after booting my laptop up as normal the desktop is being displayed on its side and i cant get it to go back to normal at all. I've tried rebooting in safe mode and doing system restores nut neither worked. Urget advise required

On the Add/Remove screen I have a program called Home Edition anti virus. When selecting this prog it is highlighted in blue but the option buttons change/remove do not appear. I have purged the registry and the msconf file of all refs to anti virus.

I bought a computer from someone and it says Registered to: And has their name. I'm trying to figure out how to change that name to mine. Anyone know how to do this ? Like in the Documents and Settings Folder in there a folder has their name on it as well and I cant change that.

When I start up my computer, I get the message "Disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter" From here I can only get to setup. I can't access recovery or safe-mode. What should I do?

in the users panel I can see the 3 users, all 3 have admin rights, but then I try to add a particular user (user C) to the permissions on a shared folder, the user is not available in the list of users under ntfs permissions. what's up with that?
