I have a Dimension 4500 with NEC NR-7900A CD ROM driver.  It works sometimes,
but most of the time it doesn't detect that I have put a CD in the drive.  
Any ideas?  I would really appreciate any help you might have.

Noticed very slow performance.  Winword.exe was running (though no
document/application open) and using up 30-40% cpu.  "end task" the
winword.exe and all ok until next reboot.
