How can I find out which programmes are loaded when I start up my PC. And is

I switch on in the morning and let AVG do its thing. But its taking

I have 2 XP Pro machines on a network through a hub.
A can see and access My Documents on the B, but B can see My Documents on
the A but can't open the folder (error message saying \\A\My Documents is
not sccessible)
