Whenever I attempt lo start XP everything is ok until the "welcome" screen is
about to appear, then the system shuts down and loops straight back to the
BIOS screen before displaying the black Windows XP start screen. Then it's
back in the loop. I can access the BIOS settings ...

Back on 4/29/07 I got the BSOD, but didn't copy any information - I just
restarted my laptop.
Today the BSOD happened again when I turned on the computer. It read:
"A problem has been been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent

Thanks to everyone who tried to help with my SYSTEM take over problem.
It wasn't a virus -- it was a hardware issue -- an expensive hardware
issue, so I bought a new computer.  Of course, without specially

I chose to "encrypt" a business folder to prevent unwarranted access.
Following a hard drive failure, my os became corrupted, despite all
