I have found that my pc is saving downloads in this folder automaticly,
please can someone tell me how to stop it? So I can get back to saving things
where I would like to.

I get a system error after each time that I boot stating that: The SAVRTPEL
service failed to start due to the following error: The system can't find the
file specified. Can anybody help me please to fix this problem? The
"Autoruns" does not show this service.

Does anyone know how I can debug this?  It's annoying to do System
Restore every time in order to use XP.  BTW, I do this System Restore
in Safe Mode which does reboot right after by itself.  However, this
automated reboot by System Restore works fine, why not normal reboot/

When I download anything, it all goes into Temporary folders. Iv changed the
settings in internet options (genaral) but nothing seems to help.
Has any one got any ideas as its driving me nuts.

Just noticed that I have both Microsoft TCP/IP V6 and Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP) showing in network settings.
Is this (a) normal, and (b) likely to cause a conflict ? (XP Pro machines)
Should I remove one or the other?

A few weeks ago my wireless mouse died.  Changed the battery, didn't help.  I
presumed it was the mouse, so I plugged in my old MS mouse.  It actually worked

I have a problem with a strange behaviour of an seemingly undeletable
folder in windows xp (ntfs): i have an EMPTY(1) folder on my desktop.
when i try to delete it, an error box comes up, saying something like
Error: File CALO439H. can't be deleted; and the folder stays there. i

I'm having a serious lock-up issue with my primary hard drive on my
desktop. Right now, I have it slaved to another XP machine to try and
save data I must have in case I can't fix it. However, all the data I
have for myself is locked away from other users' eyes because I log in
