Some problem here that I hope someone can assist.
I having some issues with the installation CDs that I have. When I insert
them into the CD drive, the installation screen does not appear. Windows open
up the main CD folder showing me the contents of the CD instead.

When I type in my name, it automatically shows up about 5 names, all of
which are misspelled.  How do I get rid of all those extra names.  I have
that on other items also that I misspelled first time around?

I just bought a new hard drive and dl all my new drivers. I got a malware bug
called IRC Fast  I cannot DL anything now. I keep getting an error from
windows. how do I get rid of this bug?  I can't DL any of cleaners to sweep
the system.

retail cd. Which PID key should I use: the one provided by the OEM (sticker

I can't have quicktime and XP default at same time? When I have to use qt on
a  website to run a video  it works however some sites won't run qt and if it
is installed my default won't run.  Its a bit of a pain haveing to install,
watch video then uninstall for these videos.

A friend's hard drive crashed.    I've reinstalled WinXP Home, and it seems
to be running OK, but a front-end error message comes up every time on boot:

I have recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU and memory and did a
cleanWindows install.Went better then I expected with a couple of problems
that I solved but one that has me stumped.

I seem to have the same problem as peddy, just about to trouble shoot the pc

First of all I am on XP PROFESSIONAL. I think my computer might be
infected by a virus so i tried to get to safe mode to run antivirus

PC is a dell so no OS disc available, anyone got any ideas as we cant get it
to start at all!
