When I try to send a very simple, short E-mail with Outlook Express 6,
Windows XP, on Comcast High Speed Cable Internet,
I always get an Outlook Express dialogue box -- that states:

for winxp pro what are those files in
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\Download for?
In particular I got a couple of large files:
258 MB

I am using Windows XP Pro with SP2 and all updates, I have one hard
drive on my system.
If I try and copy or move a file to or from anywhere other than the root
directory of the C: drive, I get a crash with the following error

xp home and filesharing is on and users must enter password is on too. can't
connect, says connection refused anytime i try to connect to my xp home. i
have right click on c drive and e drive and clicked the just enable
filesharing link and the hand is on the drives. nothing ...

looking to see if someone can point me in the right direction
i have a laptop that will not complete a system restore.  after the system
restarts it says that the restore was unsuccessful.  there is nothing
written to the event logs for the error.  i have turned off system restore ...

i recently got a virus that disabled my explorer.exe command. i'm in the
recovery console & i need to know what command to type in to repair
explorer.exe i think i'm in the right place to fix but i'm not sure.
can anyone help

I started getting the following error messages in my Event Viewer.  It
appears every time I boot up or restart, but so far there have been no BSODs.
I checked the date when it started appearing and it's been happening since
June 9th.  I don't remember installing any new drivers ...

I am having a bit of a problem with opening photos in nero photosnap viewer.
All my photos used to open in this application since recently when I try and
open any photos I am recieving an error message " file C:\documents and

I upgraded to IE 7.0.5730.11 and now I can't get any web pages to
load, *including* Windows Update to see if there is a fix.
I get the standard "Internet Explorer Cannot display the webpage."
I've run all the connection wizards I can find through the error

i built a custom pc from parts i bought separately
specs -
intel pentium d 3.2 ghz
2 gb ram

I created another user account yesterday and had no problem switching back &
forth yesterday. Today the only account that is there to open is the one I
created yesterday. My original user account is gone. Where did it go and how
do I get it back??!!

When this gem first started, the only changes to the
system were from the following:
1. Anti-virus software- Computer Associates updates nightly
2. windows defender -as far as I know only updates not new version
