How do I use an external sound card as my default recording device10 Jun 2007 17:52 GMT3
I'm using a Digidesign Mbox for various audio projects.  Sound goes through
it fine, but the problem is it won't appear as an option for a default audio
recording device.  It will however show up as a default audio playback
device.  How can I solve this?

I downloaded the latest aim 6.0, and now when my computer boots up, the aol
home page does too.  My home page is verizon, and when I click the "house"
button on internet explorer, it goes to my home page.  How do I stop having
the aol home page start up every time?  It didn't ...

I have recently had my laptop hard drive started over.  There were some
issues with very slow start up and shut down.  My husband put all the data
back on that is necessary for Windows XP.
This has helped immensely with speed.  I used to like to use microsoft

I can run the repair install up to this point only and then have to F3.
How do I find the diagnostic tools to "find" .
Also cannot run windows update and have tried most if not all of the tips

Some video play fine, while others play, all I see is color lines.  What
could be the problem.  One thing is I can't find out how to set my default
player.

My computer has started to refuse to go on standby from my user account,
although it will from the login screen. Just asking -- can a cable modem
stop a machine from going on standby? I noticed that with the modem
disconnected one time the problem disappeared. Why would it start ...

Hey, where'd my original post go?  Oh well.. take 2.
Anyway.. I've not setup any user accounts and the system boots straight into
Windows, but all of a sudden, it now stops at the login screen, where you
select a user account.. but there are no user accounts shown, so it's just

I've just started having a problem with my system at startup.
The blank desktop comes up, then I get my task bar, then DEP pops open a
warning telling me that it is blocking explorer.exe!
This sounds like spyware/malware/virus but the machine comes up clean.

This morning I tried to remove an unwanted program; I received a "Fatal
Error" message, something about 'parsing error.'  I don't know what that
means.  I don't know how to remove the program if "add/remove" won't do it.

I have a small, 3 computer network setup.  
On computer 1, I mounted a external hard drive to V:\ExtStorage, where V:\
is already an NTFS external hard drive.  On this computer, I can acess all of
the folders and files (open, delete, copy, etc.).
