My system will not boot up as I get "a disk read error occurred"......tried repairing with with XP disc but same error shows on restart. Please help.

When I switch my PC on at the logon screen I am informed I have messages waiting, but in outlook 2003 (My default tool) when I open that there are no messages there. If I then log off and back on it still tells me there are 2 messages

I bought my UK Dell PC about 4 years ago. Dell didn't supply a XP back-up disc because of the "System Restore" facility. Well, "System Restore" has failled and I want to Format the hard drive and re-install XP Home. Dell doesn't want to know.

This is a really bizarre situation. I'm a tech and I was setting up a Dell Optiplex GX745, which has no PS/2 Support. I loaded Windows XP Pro SP 2 from CD and it was going along great, until I installed McAfee ePO agent.
