I used to have WinXP Pro with SP2, but a friend of mine did a new
installation (without formatting) on my pc. Is it possible to revert to
my old system, so it would be as it was before the new installation?

i was recently advised by my service provider to go back to IE6 from IE7

consistenly get bsod in explorer (xp pro, sp2), when selecting right click
menu choice of "convert ot Adobe PDF."  no problem converting to pdf within
Adobe 8 professional.
