Have lost my start/programs/acc/system tools like defrag etc. I don't know what I have done but would like them back. Have original disk but do not understand how to do repair as I need to "slipstream".

When I try to open my disc defragmentor I get a screen that pops up and says Windows cannot open this file: File dfrg.msc To open this file, windows needs to know what program created it. Windows

I have some connection icons in the lower right tray that is yelling 'Status Connected/Not Connected' Respectively. The messages is persistent windows that do not go away unless I click on it's little x.

Total newbie here and having problems with computer. We have Windows XP installed and were having lots of problems so figured the only way to fix it was do a total recovery disk thing. Only problem is that whilst the recovery disk is doing it's thing it comes up with an Error ...

i have a nice new system that i've been using for several months now. the old system was set up downstairs and forgotten. son, 12, decided he wants to use it but we cannot get into system. there was a password (which i don't remember) upon startup.

iles. I tried to defragment my d drive and I get a message saying there is only 12% space and it requires at least 15%. Said to get rid of some of my files. I don't have any music stored, and I thought the d drive was for music.

Windows XP Home SP2 updated. Unusual for me but not 'written to CD' for many weeks, and the process now fails with 'please put a writeable disc into D: (even when a known writeable CD is in place)
