Have lost my start/programs/acc/system tools like defrag etc. I don't know
what I have done but would like them back.
Have original disk but do not understand how to do repair as I need to
"slipstream".

My HP (m7680n) unexpectedly logs off and then shuts down. The computer is
less than 6 months old, so I don't suspect a hardware problem. According to

I have some connection icons in the lower right tray that is yelling
'Status Connected/Not Connected' Respectively.
The messages is persistent windows that do not go away unless I click
on it's little x.

Total newbie here and having problems with computer.  We have Windows XP
installed and were having lots of problems so figured the only way to fix it
was do a total recovery disk thing.  Only problem is that whilst the recovery
disk is doing it's thing it comes up with an Error ...

i have a nice new system that i've been using for several months now.  the
old system was set up downstairs and forgotten.  son, 12, decided he wants to
use it but we cannot get into system.  there was a password (which i don't
remember) upon startup.

I lent over the key board and th screen display turned on its side then
without realising I lent over again and now everything is upside down. How

Until a short time ago, when I got a new message on Outlook, a flag appeared
in the bottom right corner near the clock which let me know that I had mail
without having to open Outlook. This not longer happens and I am wondering if
it is as a result of updates, or did I do ...

iles.  I tried to defragment my d drive and I get a message saying there is
only 12% space and it requires at least 15%.  Said to get rid of some of my
files.
I don't have any music stored, and I thought the d drive was for music.

Windows XP Home SP2 updated.
Unusual for me but not 'written to CD' for many weeks, and the process now
fails with 'please put a writeable disc into D: (even when a known writeable
CD is in place)

I have an HP 882C. I understand the drivers for XP do not support the Banner
Printing function of this printer. Will an updated driver to correct this be

I have an xp computer that I use on a wired network.  When I play video from
the public folder on a vista machine.  The video is slow an often is out of
sync.  
Any suggestions as to what might be my issue.  My network connection is via

When I use the Disk Defragmenter I get the following message:
Defragmentation is complete for: (C:)
Some files on this volume could not be defragmented.
Please check the defragmentation report for the list of these files.
IE7 File Send Link Sends Data in Latin-1, not UTF-804 Jun 2007 19:25 GMT1
For a page with a non-ascii character in its title (e.g.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Souffl%C3%A9), I choose File, Send, Link by
Email.
This causes the Subject to be transmitted in Latin-1, even though the page
