I've just defragged a partition.  This time I paid close attention and
I see that some files are stranded in the outer reaches of the

I have just noticed a problem on my wife's computer.
The window that opens when I click Start/All Programs is too low down
the screen. There is a half inch gap at the top and the bottom is off

I have Dell laptop with "Window XP Media Center". Currenlty when I restart it

I am unable to download this recent update for Windows XP as it gives a "File
Not Found" error; on another note, my validation is successful.  Is this on
the end of the windows server or am I doing something wrong?

I recently recieved a pc from a friend that I am working on in an attempt to
turn it into a (usable) media center pc. However, whenever I try to play a
song, sound, midi, etc, I get the error message that the sound card is not
found and to try and install the device/driver.

Windows XP home SP2 plus all update... Some of the window system
options/menus are in a foreighn language. Also when I select sharing and
securities from a menu on a folder/file I get eh properties box instead.

This problem has never happened before, only started yesterday. I tried
booting in safe mode, but the same error occurs. In case it'll help,
this is the error signature that generates from the error report:

I had to reinstall Windows, my wife had files she really needed under her My
Documents folder.  When I reinstalled the folder is still there, but it says
access is denied, is there anyway I can recover these files?

*Suddenly*, Internet explorer *has started* to forget cookies on *all
websites*, so I keep having to log in again.
Rather annoying, anyone have an idea why this has happened?
