I'm stuck. It says that the Windows Firewall is being controlled by Group
Policy and I cant change it. When I try and download things for it, then it
tells me that it's not advalable for Windows XP. this is annoying me beacuse
I can not dissable the Windows Firewall

I've had this problem with two different computers running XP and numerous
programs.  On the menu bar that has file, edit, view, etc., when I scroll
over them with my mouse pointer, they turn white and then after I move the
pointer off of it, they stay white.

Win XP SP2. When trying to Turn Off Computer the Stand By button is greyed
out and inoperable, so you cannot place computer on Hibernate either. The
other two buttons Turn Off and Restart do appear and work well.

My outlook express is "frozen" Everytime I try to open the program, I get the
hour glass, that won't go away. I have to hit the X to close it down. I can't

When I do a print screen the size of the screen is less than 1 meg.   When
our customer does a print screen the size they send is more than 1 meg to 5
meg.   They are on a windows.   Are there setting for size of print screen?

I have tried several times to upgrade from Windows 2000 to Windows XP.
During the instal the computer reboots and comes up with an 0x50 stop
error (blue screen) PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

When i restart/startup my pc I get the option to run xp set-up or run windows
xp home edition. Unfortuneatly for me it always chooses setup and if I am not
physically sitting at my pc then I have to restart and choose run windows
home etc.

I need my dvd drive back!   I was using add or remove programs t
add/remove Windows components and I removed Sonic DVD and CD Burning.
I tried to get it back right away but was unsuccessful.  I tried syste

Whenever i start up my PC i get an error of "windows explorer has
encountered a problem and needs to close", this is only a recent
problem, another annoying thing with it is, if i press the close buton
(i.e to allow windows explorer to restart, none of my startup programs

The latest batch included KB928366.  It downloads, installation initialises
but then fails.  No specific reason given.  Any ideas, anyone?
