Can anybody help me understand why I can not get this windows up date install(KB931784 valnerablity in windows Kernel could allow elevation of privilege) It has been sitting in my tray for months now, no matter how many times I try it wont install.

My PC works fine for an hour after turning it on, but then suddenly starts slowing to the point of almost doing nothing. It makes no difference which programs are being used, whether you stop using programs altogether. The only option is to restart the pc for another hour of use.

I am not sure what to do. I am running WinXP Pro on an HP Livestrong Pavilion. Any help would be appreciated. I am also using registry mechanic. Not sure if that has anything to do with the problem. I did have a trojan a few weeks back that Webroot Spy Sweeper caught.

I have just bought a new Dell PC and would like to transfer all the fonts of my old Gateway PC onto this one. I tried to use the Crossover Cable to connect both computers in order to transfer the fonts, but the process took forever (by using Windows XP File & Transfer Wizard)
