Unable to boot after crash. Removed faulty drive. Remaining drive checked OK.
Would not boot normally. Boot from XP installation disk displayed choice of
repair or clean installation.  On repair, went thru installation to point of
msg that it needed file 'asms' on CD-ROM.  ...

I've gone into the command window and whenever I try to run ipconfig and
ping, but I get an error saying that they are not valid internal or external

I use Irfanview to open my jpg files so if I look at the list in Explorer on
my own user profile, they all show the Irfanview icon.
However, on another profile, all jpg shows another icon (Nero, I think it

Can anyone explain why a folder is missing under Windows XP?
I can see it using free Commander but Windows Explorer doesn't see it.

I have a hidden system file in a folder which held images.
The file name is Thumbs.db
I need to delete this file so I can delete the folder.
I'm familiar with dos command mode so I need the syntax only.

I'm using Windows XP and Firefox 1.5.0.12.  I have a URL in a Eudora
email that ends with "index.php" which I'm to use in order to log onto
a blog and post.
If I move a cursor over the URL, it says it is syntactically invalid.

I get the error msg at startup and have followed the directions of the KB

The windows process igfxpers(.exe) generates errors whenever I try to shut
down my machine.  (I may have misspelled it - igfexpers?)
I read on a potentially dubious site that it is a process related to an
Intel chipset or video support, and takes a large amount of system memory.

i have been trying to delete photo files from my desktop but the more i
delete them the more they are duplicating themselves resulting in 100,s of

When turning on computer-it takes 10 minutes for Windows to respond-also
unresponsive to turn off computer-must do this manually on tower. All text
seems highlighted and all colors are flourescent.
